Toilet Clogs

If your toilet clogs, you can typically unclog it using a plunger. Simply press the plunger into place over the drainage hole and make certain the rubber forms a seal. Then, begin to move the plunger up and down rapidly to push whatever is stuck in the pipe through the system.

Sink and Shower Clogs

Most sink and shower clogs are due to debris that becomes lodged in the pipes. You may be able to fish some of this debris out of the drain using a drain cleaning implement. Many hardware stores sell these.

Please refrain from using caustic chemicals on your drain, as this could damage the plumbing system.

If you lose electrical power in your property...

Please contact your utility provider to troubleshoot the issue. There may be outages in your area due to bad weather or construction. There may also be billing issues on your account.

Check to make sure that the breaker has not tripped. Check to make sure that the temperature settings on the water heater tank are correct. If you change the settings, then allow the system to heat up for 1 hour before re-testing.

If your water heater is powered by natural gas, check to see if the pilot light is lit.

Check to make sure your electricity is on throughout your home. If the electricity is off, call your utility provider as it may have been disconnected.

If you have electric service, check to make sure that the breaker has not tripped. Verify that your thermostat is operating and set correctly.

Light fixtures not working
Replace the lightbulb. Check/reset the circuit breaker

Beeping smoke detector
Replace the batteries and reset the system by pushing the button on the smoke detector

Sink or dishwasher will not drain
Check for a blockage or use an unblocking solution

Outlet not working
Make sure it's not hooked up to a light switch that may be turned off.

Garage door not working
Make sure that nothing is blocking the electronic sensors. Check/reset the circuit breaker.

Garbage disposal not working
Check to see if something is stuck inside. If there is no blockage, then try pressing the reset button on bottom of the unit, and/or use the tool to hand crank the motor to dislodge small particles within the disposal.
